The REAL VR set of mods for titles such as GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 can be seen to offer some of the most immersive experiences out there for non-VR titles.

For a game like Red Dead Redemption that lacks a first-person mode as standard, putting it in VR can make the entire game feel a lot more real as it were. The installation for them is also pretty simple but do note, you will need a powerful gaming PC to get it to run well.

It should come as little surprise that the man behind the mod is Luke Ross, who is arguably best known for creating such engaging mods for non-VR games, and is a new Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod is just around the corner.

The Half-Life series of games have gone down as some of the best of all time, and whilst we're still waiting for any semblance of Half-Life 3, the Lambda1 mod will give you some VR support for the original classic.

It brings with it full motion-controlled aiming so you can properly aim and fire in VR, and everything also looks rather good, especially for a game that was originally released back in 1998.

The Resi series with Resident Evil 7 and the official VR port of Resident Evil 4 is one that features heavily on our list of the best VR horror games out there, and it looks like you can add Resident Evil 2 and 3 to that list with the PrayDog mods.

These have been developed to offer a frightening VR experience with full first-person and motion control support so you can become truly engaged with your surroundings.

Each of them looks cold and dark to increase that fear factor as you walk around the landscape with nothing but a torch in some instances. The original games were rather scary, so putting them in VR just helps to make you jump out of your skin even more.

For fans of the Alien series of games, the MotherVR mod for Alien: Isolation looks to provide quite an incredible experience.

It of course maps the entire game in VR with full support for motion tracking controls. The game is noticeably dark and features a brooding atmosphere, and putting it in virtual reality certainly heightens those sentiments.

Intriguingly, Alien VR is a title that was originally shown off when the Quest 2 was announced, but an official VR port never materialised. The Mother VR mod certainly should provide you with an authentic experience, though.

Subnautica; Below Zero is the sequel to the original Subnautica game that notably featured proper VR support.
