Most of the hardcore Bethesda RPG fans who’ve invested thousands of hours into Skyrim and Fallout 4 can't wait for the release of Starfield, which is set for September 6.

For those who’ve spent the past few months speculating about everything the game could contain and even its potential for interesting mods and DLCs further down the line, this month's Starfield Direct provided plenty of fresh answers regarding exactly what players can expect at release.

While the game might not star the famous Skyrim Grandma, fans have already spotted a lot of cool things in its deep-dive, including some potential peeks at Earth, the surprising value of a sandwich, and even a rage quit button, with the latest detective work of one having required them to dust off their drawing skills.

Are you curious as to how Starfield’s cities will be laid out?

The amateur artist in question, user RealGame6Klay, has shared their attempts to put together potential top-down views of the game’s intergalactic metropolises, based on the shots of them included in the deep-dive, to the Starfield subreddit.

First up, they took on New Atlantis, the capital city of the United Colonies, producing a map of a city surrounded to the front and rear by water and labelling the buildings and structures they’d added to it based on particular-deep-dive shots, while also having some guesses at what their functions could be.

Their fellow would-be astronauts were pretty enthused by their efforts, with some politely pointing out some possible alternatives to RealGame6Klay’s suggestions regarding what certain edifices could be used for and others posting reminders so they can return post-release and see how accurate the map is.

Encouraged by this reaction, RealGame6Klay has since also had a go at sketching up Akila City, the capital of the Freestar Collective, even picking out where they think its infamous space saloon will be located.

This also went down well, with the general attitude of others being that it was a good effort based on the currently available information and some suggesting that, regardless of how accurate it eventually proves, this is exactly the kind of speculation they love to see in the run up to the release of a highly-anticipated Bethesda title.
